Chapter’s National Awards/Recognitions

  • One of seven recipients in the nation to be awarded the National Foundation Community Investment Grant. Awarded an Investment Grant of $15,000, making Foundation history as one of the highest monetary grants ever awarded.
  • 3rd place in the Mid-Western Region for our contributions to March of Dimes.
  • One of 23 chapters in the nation that submitted for Five Star Excellence. Recognized for our submission and for our outstanding programming, spectacular events and impactful community service projects.
  • Acknowledged and celebrated for superior rated program planning and program handbook.
  • At National Convention 2016, members honored and recognized for demonstrating exceptional leadership qualities and exemplifying our national these, “The Power to Make a Difference”. Honorable-Mention honorees celebrated during the Legislative Luncheon and top 3 honorees celebrated during the closing gala.  Windy City’s very own Brenda Asare was the 2nd place honoree in the nation!
  • Windy City children and teens SERVE and are annual recipients of the President Volunteer Service Award
  • 3rd Place winner for the Best of Best Programming in the area of Civic and Community Service for “Marching Matters”
  • 2nd Place winner for Legislative Excellence for “Marching Matters”…special thanks for our outstanding Legislative Committee for executing dynamic, award winning programs this past year!
