Jack and Jill of America, Inc. – Windy City Chapter 2018 Official Scholarship

We are pleased to announce Windy City Scholarship 2018, offering scholarship opportunities for African American seniors attending a high school in the City of Chicago. The scholarship will be awarded to two qualified students; each $2,000 scholarship will be paid over four years in equal installments of $500. Scholarships are intended for undergraduate college attendance, beginning Fall 2018 at a qualifying college or university. All scholarship awards will be paid directly to the recipient’s school.  Eligibility requirements can be found on the application. Children of members of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. are ineligible to apply for this scholarship.

The application period opened 2/1 and closes 3/30.  The application can be found and submitted through the CPS portal or found in the Documents section of the website http://www.jjwindycity.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/2018-Windy-City-Chapter-Jack-and-Jill-Scholarship-Application.pdf and submitted via e-mail to wccjjscholarship@yahoo.com.

Winter Escape 2018 – February 16-19

Screening of Black Panther – Saturday, February 24, 2018

Join the Membership and Foundation committees on Saturday, February 24th for the screening of Black Panther.  The screening will be at Studio Grill, 210 W 87th St.  Tickets are $13.80 and will include admission, popcorn and a drink.  Non-WCCJJ members are welcome.  Please contact Audrena Spence and Krishna Lynch for details.

Black Family Day, May 5th – Children’s Crusade Chicago, IL

Save the date, as the Chicagoland Chapters of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. recreate the 1963 Children’s Crusade on Saturday, May 5th.   Windy City will be hosting this event with the Chicago and South Suburban chapters.

Teen Leadership Conference

Teen Leadership Conference will be held June 21st -24th, 2018 at Wayne State University in Detroit Michigan. This year’s theme will be Deeply Rooted: Unearthing Our Past to Fuel Our Future.
