WORDS FROM OUR PRESIDENT

As I think about our Chapter and the year ahead, I get excited. I am excited about the endless possibilities that the upcoming program year offers. I think about the new members and their families and the opportunities to build new relationships with them and to develop new programming ideas that will inspire us. I look forward to sharing these experiences and growing, together.

As mothers, we are acutely aware how fast time goes, one year your child’s in 1st grade, then seemingly in the blink of an eye they are in their senior year of high school. These years can and should be the best years of their lives. Providing creative, challenging, and fun Chapter programming and events must be our commitment to them.

Following in the footsteps of our Founders, we are guided by our national programming theme, “Living the Jack and Jill Experience: MISSION MINDED, DREAM DRIVEN”.  For the Windy City Chapter, I would like to add, with F.A.M.I.L.Y. in mind.

Focused: devoting our full attention and energy to our shared goals and the task at hand.

Aware: be aware of the Jack and Jill brand and what it stands for

Mindful: as we listen, engage and communicate, to make informed decisions which will result in better outcomes.

Inclusive: build lasting partnerships that reflect and help our community

Local: be aware of those around us and focus on building deep relationships and providing outstanding community support.

YOU: taking the time to take care of you.

Together we will make this a great year.

For Windy City, we will rejoice together in our successes this year, but we also will be there for each other in times of need.

In closing, I encourage each of you to fully embrace your Jack and Jill of America, Inc. experience. Re-commit to being the best for your child(ren), our children and all children. Remember why you joined Jack and Jill of America, Inc. Rededicate yourselves to successfully creating a positive environment that will allow all of our children to achieve and excel.

Thank you for your commitment to our Chapter’s future and I look forward to working with each of you.

I leave you with the following quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson about Success.

“Success: To laugh often and much, to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children, to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends, to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others, to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded! “

Yours in Jack and Jill of America, Inc.
